A few years ago, I started my biomedical engineering business and feared that I had hit the proverbial glass ceiling. I began asking myself “What is next for me?” and “Is this it?” I wanted to do something meaningful that would really help people and change lives. We have so much here in the USA. Access to healthcare for all. I thought how wonderful it would be to to provide for the medical needs of poor people in a 3rd world countries. Don't they deserve to receive medical care? In January 2019 I visited Pune, India with a medical mission team. This is where I experienced a great need firsthand. I knew that India is where I am called to provide support. The Vision is big and together we can make a difference.
One year later, we at the Mantis Foundation have expanded our buckets of hope to include changing the statistics of some deeply distressing challenges that we face here in America. The Opioid addiction crisis is killing nearly 200 people daily here in the United States. Every one of us are affected by this tragedy. We all have friends, family, co-workers, or just know someone who is dealing with this horrific, and emotionally debilitating monster. We are getting involved, spreading the word, helping to provide education, and supporting rehabilitation programs that have outstanding success rates. We all need to come together to bring change to our communities.
I have three children who are all now grown. Fortunately, I have not experienced the pain of losing a child to sex trafficking. One in six missing children in America are the victims of sex trafficking. There may be so many more that are unreported. The Mantis Foundation cares, and is providing educational resources and tools for families in our community to reduce these disturbing events. Help protect our children today.
Thank you for providing Buckets of Hope
